Robert Campbell joined South Carolina's athletics department in January 2007. Campbell serves as an assistant director in the office with Academic advisor responsibilities for football and softball.

A Kentucky native and graduate of the University of Louisville, Campbell previously worked at his alma mater's Olga Peers Academic Center for Student-Athletes where he worked with both football and men's basketball. Campbell also served as the academic advisor for men's basketball, men's and women's Tennis, and the spirit squads at Central Florida prior to joining the Gamecock family.
