Kerry Gordon is in her fourth year with South Carolina and second as assistant athletic trainer, working primarily with the track and field program as well as cross country. From July 2005 to May 2006, Gordon was a graduate assistant for the Gamecock football team and from July 2004 to June 2005 was the head athletic trainer at Allen University while pursuing a Master of Science in physical education.
Gordon served as an intern athletic trainer and massage therapist for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles training camp in 2006 and 2007.
Before enrolling in graduate school, Gordon was the head athletic trainer for Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Ga., for two and a half years, working with men's and women's basketball, baseball and men's tennis. Gordon did a short stint as assistant athletic trainer with the Georgia Force of Arena Football, as well as a season-long internship with the L.A. Xtreme from the now-defunct XFL before traveling to Marietta.
Gordon earned her Bachelor of Science in sports injury management from UNLV in December 1999 after transferring from UC Santa Barbara. She attended the Atlanta School of massage and is a nationally certified massage therapist and is licensed in the state of South Carolina. Gordon is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
