After the Bulldogs cut the Gamecock lead to 2-1 in the third inning, South Carolina scored one in the fifth to lead 3-1 before the Gamecocks broke the game open with four runs each in the seventh and eighth.

Triplett drove in three seventh inning runs with a bases loaded double, South Carolina's only extra base blow among its 11 hits. Triplett's other RBI was on a base hit in the eighth inning. Justin Harris singled home two runs in that inning.
