COLUMBIA, S.C. - Justin Harris extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a double and two singles Wednesday night and Brian Buscher drove in three runs to lead South Carolina to a 7-1 non-conference baseball win over Wofford.

Freshman Conor Lalor pitched 6 1/3 innings to get the win and improve his record to 5-0. Wofford starter Jarrod Rampey, 3-7, was charged with the loss. South Carolina upped its season r3ecord to 25-12 and Wofford dropped to 6-26. The game was played in a rapid one hour and 54 minutes.

Harris, who had 12 hits in 20 at bats in four games last week, continued his hot hitting with a three for four night. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the third, and beat out a bunt in the fifth inning. He scored three runs.

South Carolina got on the board early with a two run first inning. Jon Coutlangus walked and Harris singled. Buscher's single scored Coutlangus and sent Harris to third. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Landon Powell.

Buscher hit his eighth home run of the season in the third inning after Harris had doubled to make the score 4-0. The Gamecocks added single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

In the fourth Bryan Triplett walked and scored on a double by Hank Parks. A double by Powell in the fifth drove in Harris. Kevin Melillo doubled in the sixth and scored on a base hit by Michael Campbell.

After giving up a first inning hit to Scott Holloway on the second pitch of the game Lalor didn't allow another hit until Blake Timanus led off the Wofford seventh inning with his sixth home run of the season. Two of the next three batters singled and Lalor was replaced by Stephen Broome.

Broome allowed one hit and struck out three in 1 2/3 innings and Matt Campbell pitched a hitless ninth.

South Carolina opens a three game Southeastern Conference series at 7 p.m., Friday against Mississippi State.
