University of South Carolina offensive tackle Justin Sorensen was selected by the BC Lions with the fifth pick in the first round of the CFL Canadian Draft, held today.

Sorensen, a 6-7, 327-pounder from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, has one year of eligibility remaining at the University of South Carolina. The two-year letterwinner started all 12 games at right tackle during the 2007 season and has made 18 consecutive starts at the position.
