The South Carolina football team worked out Tuesday night at the Bluff Road practice fields. The team, dressed in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts, spent the latter part of the practice focusing on their two-minute drill.

"Just another normal night of practice," said Head Coach Steve Spurrier following the two-hour session. "Bobby Wallace landed on his shoulder (on Monday night), kind of like (Oklahoma running back) Adrian Peterson. He has a little fracture in the clavicle. It will take about five to six weeks. It was very unfortunate. Hopefully we can keep the other running backs healthy. If one of them gets nicked up, Bobby will be ready by the third game I hope. Brian (Maddox) is doing well. He could play if we have to go play with him.

"The receivers are coming around," continued Coach Spurrier. "We have to find out who can catch besides Kenny (McKinley). We know Freddie Brown can catch. So we'll wait and see who really steps forward from the other guys."

Jeremy Burgess (slight concussion), Taylor Rank (right shoulder sprain) and Jim Hutton (right shoulder sprain) all returned to practice but were held out of contact drills. Joe Hills (right knee sprain) continues to be sidelined, as does Dustin Lindsey, who is recovering from knee surgery.

Coach Spurrier noted that Saturday's scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium will be open to the public. The practice will begin around 4 p.m. with the scrimmage getting underway around 5.

The Gamecocks will practice twice on Wednesday, taking the field in the morning at 9:30 and again at 7:30 p.m. Those practices are closed.
