The South Carolina Gamecocks will have many of their younger players participate in an open scrimmage on Monday, Dec. 18 at Williams-Brice Stadium, head coach Steve Spurrier announced today.

The scrimmage will begin at approximately 5 p.m. Fans are invited to attend. Seating will be available in the west stands. There is no admission charge.

The Gamecocks (7-5) are preparing for the 2006 AutoZone Liberty Bowl. The gmae is set for Friday, Dec. 29 at 3:30 p.m. CT in Memphis against Conference USA champion Houston (10-3). The Gamecocks practiced twice on Saturday, again on Sunday and are scheduled for two practices on Monday. They will continue to work out through Wednesday before breaking for the Christmas holidays. They will resume practice on Monday, Dec. 25 before departing for Memphis later that afternoon.
