Toumpsin Leads, Gamecocks Third at NCAA East Regional

South Carolina women's golf held onto its third-place spot with one round left to play at the NCAA East Regional at University of Georgia Golf Course. Scores were higher throughout the field in the second round, and the Gamecocks followed their first-round 291 (+3) with a 303 (+15) on Friday. Carolina is just nine strokes behind tournament leader Florida and six behind defending national champion Duke. Gamecock sophomore Bénédicte Toumpsin finished the day as the tournament leader, adding a second-round 70 (-2), the low round of the day, to her first-round 68 to hold a three-shot lead on two players tied for second. more
