Theresa lettered in both cross country and track and field while attending Northwestern High School in Rock Hill. She had top times of 5:13 in the 1600m and 11:22 in the 3200m throughout her high school career. She placed second at the state championship in the 3200m. Theresa considered Clemson, Wofford, Appalachian State and UNC before signing with the Gamecocks. Theresa was born on January 11, 1987 and is the daughter of Mary Ann and Andrew Verostek.
