Freshman Beatrice Biwott led the Gamecocks for the sixth consecutive time this season to finish 79th at the NCAA Southeast Regional Saturday morning. South Carolina finished 23rd with 605 points, an improvement on last year's finish.

Junior Danielle Barnes also placed in the top 100, finishing 95th with a time of 22:59. Finishing third for the Gamecocks and 135th overall was freshman Elizabeth Heath. Sophomore Ashley Evens and freshman Erin Fedewa finished 146th and 155th, respectively. Freshman Nicole Rheinlander also added points for the Gamecocks finishing 193rd, while freshman Amanda Smith rounded out the scoring for the Gamecocks finishing 201st.

Virginia claimed the team title with 105 points, while Kentucky finished second with 126 points. Tasmin Fanning of Virginia Tech took home the individual title finishing with a time of 20:07.
