COLUMBIA, S.C.- South Carolina's sophomore cross country runner Jenny Lake, a native of Geneseo, Ill., was named the SEC Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Lake's time of 18:55, in the 5K race at The Citadel Invitational, set the James Allen County Park record in Charleston, S.C. by 15 seconds. This marks the second course record Lake has set this season.

The Gamecocks will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they travel to Clemson, S.C. to compete in the Clemson Invitational.
